A Simple English Conversation
Once upon a time, in a small village surrounded by green hills, there lived two friends named Emily and David. They were inseparable, always finding joy in each other’s company. One sunny afternoon, they decided to go for a walk through the nearby forest.
As they strolled along the winding path, Emily noticed a colorful butterfly fluttering near her shoulder. “Oh, look!” she exclaimed, pointing at it. “Isn’t that beautiful?”
David smiled warmly. “Yes, it is. Butterflies remind me of freedom—they can fly wherever they want.”
Emily tilted her head thoughtfully. “That’s true. But sometimes, even people who feel trapped can still dream of flying.”
David paused for a moment, clearly moved by her words. “You’re right. Dreams give us hope, no matter where we are.”
They continued walking until they reached a clearing with a cozy little bench beneath an old oak tree. As they sat down, David pulled out a notebook from his bag. “I’ve been working on some poems lately,” he said shyly. “Would you like to hear one?”
Emily nodded eagerly. David cleared his throat and began reading:
"The sun sets low,
Its golden glow
Fades into night.
But in my heart,
A spark will start,
To light my way."
Tears welled up in Emily’s eyes as she listened. When David finished, she hugged him tightly. “That was amazing! Your words are so full of emotion.”
David laughed softly. “Thank you. Writing helps me express things I can’t say aloud.”
After spending hours talking about their dreams, fears, and favorite memories, they finally headed back home. The sun had begun its descent, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink.
As they parted ways at the edge of the village, Emily called out, “See you tomorrow?”
“Of course!” David replied with a grin. And with that, they went their separate ways, carrying the warmth of their friendship deep within their hearts.
This simple conversation reminded them both of how important it is to share moments like these—moments that make life beautiful and meaningful.
